Rise of import duties in India
11 August 2019, 14:44
Recently, the demand for steel in the domestic market of India has fallen significantly, but manufacturers are more concerned about rising import duties. According to the results of the first half of the year, prices rose by more than sixty percent, and experts fear that such rapid growth will ruin trade relations with tax-free countries like Korea or Japan. Manufacturers are also worried that giants like China will gain a monopoly in the market, so the heads of the largest Indian manufacturers are proposing to introduce a position whereby steel will be classified as negative imports.
